finish first at prestigious skating competition

Plushenko and Tatiana Totmianina & Maxim Marinin
won Gold Medals at the Grand Prix Final in St. Petersburg,
Russia.
Plushenko
was dominant in his performances. He led from start
to finish and capped his competition with a magnificent
performance in the final free skate.
Plushenko
earned six 6.0s with the remainder 5.9s for artistic
impression and was so overwhelming technically, he
earned 5.9s from all but one judge.
It
was Plushenkos third Grand Prix Championship.
He previously won in 2000 and 2001.
Totmianina
& Marinin won all three of their programs. They
have not lost this season, winning all six of their
competitions.
Plushenko
led after the men's short program. He executed all
the jumps, including a quad toe-triple toe, with precision.
Plushenko was dominant in his short program. His technical
marks included three 5.9s and the rest were 5.7-5.8.
Plushenko's technical marks were almost a half point
better with every judge over second place countryman
Ilia Klimkin.
